Description

Cordyceps has been gaining attention in recent years for its immune-boosting properties. Since ancient times, this type of mushroom has been used in Chinese medicine as a type of cure-all to improve everything from appetite to libido, energy and sleep.

Cordyceps has been touted as an excellent aid to the immune system, an adaptogen to help with both energy production and sleep, and an antioxidant. In studies, it has also been found to be a neuro-protector as it protects the brain from oxidative stress.

According to The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the protective effects they have against oxidative damage of biomolecules are a result of their free radical scavenging abilities.

In another study published in 2006, Cordyceps showed undeniable support for energy generation and anti-fatigue help after exercise and has been found to be safe and effective for enhancing cell-mediated immunity.

Why We Love cordyceps, the energy booster

I (Dr. Warren) love using this herb for those going through chronic immune and energy challenges, especially patients dealing with tickborne diseases. It’s extremely effective at helping people gain energy without the jitters, but you have to give it time. It’s not like caffeine, where it gives you an almost instantaneous boost. It takes a few months to see the benefits, but along the way, it’s also helping your nerve and immune health and protecting cells from oxidative damage.
